Press & Pattern Studio is a vibrant pop-up art space in Chingford, London, run by illustrators and printmakers Emma Bond and Siobhan Watt. With 30 years of combined experience in illustration, textiles and printmaking, they offer creative workshops for all ages and abilities, designed to inspire joy and well-being.
Throughout October, visitors can explore hands-on artistic techniques through live demos, taster sessions, and playful experimentation. The studio features a retail space with handmade works from local artists and a community gallery where visitors are invited to contribute their own creations. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, Press & Pattern provides a welcoming environment that promotes relaxation, creative growth, and a sense of accomplishment.

Saturday 12th October - Playful Prints: Family Stationery Workshop

Monday 14th October - Creative Playtime: Parent & Baby Drop-In

Join us for a relaxed, creative drop-in session designed for parents and carers. Reconnect with your artistic side while keeping your little ones close. During our pop-up at 228, we’ll provide a variety of materials for you to explore, with space for babies to play (or nap!), and plenty of room for a chat and a cuppa. This is a free session, just drop in and enjoy some creative time!

An evening of playful exploration, where you'll experiment with a range of wet and dry techniques to create unique textures and marks on paper. From paint and ink to mono-printing, you'll learn how to combine these methods to craft striking collage materials. In this playful morning workshop, you’ll experiment with wet and dry techniques to create unique textures on paper. Explore paint, ink, and mono-printing to craft striking collage materials while embracing the joy of creative play and experimentation in a relaxed, hands-on setting.

Part 2: Flow & Form: Creative Collage Exploration
After lunch, we’ll play with composition and layering using your handmade papers to create collaged artworks. We'll explore collagraphs, a printmaking technique using collage with ink and a printing press to create embossed layered colourful artworks.

Tuesday 22nd October - Flow & Form: Creative Collage Exploration

Collage & Printmaking Exploration at Press & Pattern Studio! Focus on pattern play as you master collaging techniques, exploring composition and layering. Experiment with paper collage alongside collagraph—a printmaking method that combines collage, ink, and a printing press.
