Chingford Mount Draft Framework
The Chingford Mount Town Centre framework has been produced by the Council to help realise continued investment and improvements in Chingford Mount over the next 15 years.
With potential for new homes, new and improved community facilities and social infrastructure, upgraded retail and leisure offer, new public realm, and new and upgraded workspaces, Chingford Mount will realise its potential as a thriving and attractive town centre that the local community continue to be proud of and where people want to live, work and visit.
The document is designed to support the Council’s emerging new Local Plan, providing an overall framework for regeneration and investment in Chingford Mount town centre.
The Chingford Mount draft area framework was under consultation from 22nd November 2021 until 31st January 2022. The council will review all responses with a view to update the document and consult with the community again before it is considered for adoption as an SPD later in the year. It includes the Long-Term Public Realm Proposal for the whole Town Centre and the pedestrianisation of Albert Crescent which is considered as the main project for unlocking the potential of the Town Centre and its recovery.
